GATE 2025 Image Resizing Rules

The IITs are extremely strict about image dimensions for the GATE exam. Unlike other exams, GATE photos are rectangular (3.5cm x 4.5cm) but signatures are wide rectangular boxes.

Photo Requirements:

Aspect Ratio: 0.75 (Width/Height).
Resolution: Min 240x320 px, Max 480x640 px. Our tool defaults to the max quality.
Background: White or light color.
Face Coverage: Face should cover 60-70% of the photo area. Use our Zoom slider to adjust this.

Signature Requirements:

Aspect Ratio: 1:3.5 (Height:Width).
Resolution: Min 80x280 px, Max 160x560 px.
Important: Sign with black or dark blue ink only.
